Week Ending 10/27: Joint Expenses

Okay, this week was much MUCH more reasonable. I can’t figure out why my card keeps getting charged for family purchases, but ‘tis the mystery of Apple (I’ll look into it). I hate how expensive groceries continue to be, but weirdly, our spend has stayed equal-ish, mostly because I try to buy and waste less. I used to beat myself up over how high our bill was, but now for 4 people and a dog, this doesn’t seem all that bad.

Sometimes it drives me nuts that I make so much more and as a result, put in twice as much into our joint account. So I’ll sneak little things in for myself from time to time… sometimes as a way to expedite Amazon shipping. Hey, I’m not that proud of this, and I don’t do it for expensive stuff. But if my husband isn’t going to pay attention to details for things that are just HIS and charge it to our joint card, this also seems fair to me.

Xmas gifts are pricey, and with one kid’s b-day only a smidge over a month before the big day, the holidays are an expensive month for us. I’m trying to nickel-and-dime us by design to spread the cost out and be more intentional about it this year. Stay with me, dear reader, to see how that plan pans out in the next 2 months!
