Week Ending 10/13: Joint Expenses

The big headline this week is that we escaped Amazon Prime Days/competitor versions relatively unscathed. All I purchased was stuff we needed anyway – dog treats, replacement air filters, etc. For what it’s worth, it’s hard to prove the absence of something, but ever since we got the air filters years ago (and have replaced the filters regularly) we have really not gotten sick at our regular rate during the year. If nothing else, the narsty filth that covers them when I remove them is proof enough to me that they are doing something right.

I am also trying my darndest to not give myself system shock for the holidays this year. Heir’s birthday is right around Thanksgiving, and then we have Christmas for 2 kids, so it’s sort of a challenge to spread it out and prepare, but I’m trying.

And finally, what is it with physical checks? I swear some people never use them, but we still seem to, fairly regularly. That’s how we pay the cleaners every 2 weeks, but it still seems like we use them a lot. I guess with credit card processing fees some vendors prefer them? I dunno.

All in, an okay week. Not a lot of frivolity for $1,741.
